SB1440 delayed

SB1440 was not heard today because of a procedural error. We expect it to be heard next Tuesday after 2:00 PM.

More public support for the bill would be helpful. Speaking at the hearing is difficult because the hearings often have long delays, but supporters can send comments to the committee online. They will be read before the vote. Go to azleg.gov and click on "request to speak". You must login once at the Capitol to activate you account. After that, you can submit comments from your PC.

  1. A little delay is OK as long as they take this facility out of the hands of the idiots at the AHS. To blame the failure on the recession is insane. They calculated that the AHS Museum/centennial/Az Experience/5 "C"s weirdness would have never worked. $15,000,000 dollars for that facility which would have lined the pockets of some east coast exhibit designers would have doomed it from the start.

  2. So after all of this is over and the museum and collections are in the hands of the AZGS and the U of A what happens to Dr. Ann Woosley and Bill Ponder? They are the ones who sold this bill of goods to the Governor. When does a director of a small State of Arizona agency who caused all of this mess get away without punishment? There should be some kind of inquiry when it is all over. or perhaps she is asked to "retire".

  3. And all during this mess the AHS Board of Directors have never voted on any portion of this. Why do they even exist? Why did they let this happen and shame an agency that used to do a great job. Until that non performing, non productive and way over paid director Ann Woosley showed up. Who was also a Board member!

  4. I read Dr. Ann Woosley's letter to the membership in the 2015 Annual Report about how much she has learned from being a member of the Board to being the Executive Director. Maybe that's the problem. The Board hiring from within the Board. I will ask the board this. was it worth it?
