The news report was very good. It told the truth and showed the waste and corruption involved. I was curious that the Arizona Historical Society was not mentioned? They are deep into this mess, willing partners of a crime against the taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteFunny that the first news story of the Az. Centennial 2 hours from the start of the "Centennial Year" was a story of a failed attempt at starting a flawed museum with an east coast exhibit design company which has no donors and a destroyed mineral/mining museum for kids.I hope that Gov. Brewer can find someplace for her parties, maybe the Biltmore? I am ashamed of Arizona.
ReplyDeleteI really, really, REALLY wanted a Centennial license plate for my car... until I found out that $17 of each one goes to funding the Centennial Museum. So sad. Is there someplace we can donate to to restore the Mineral Museum or towards finding a new home for the Mineral Museum?
ReplyDeleteAnd what is known Worldwide is that the Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum was considered the 3rd finest mineral museum in the World. Thanks Brewer! And what ever happened to all those Smithsomian quality minerals the museum had?
ReplyDeleteIts been only a day after the official day of "Centennial" and most people have forgotten about the new Centennial Museum that will not happen. The news report sounded like a death rattle.Typical of AHS though. Hundrds of thousands of dollars spent for designs and plans and nothing to show for it. Just like the Rio Nuevo boondoggle in Tucson. The AHS paid $1,400,000 for the same product...nothing! Seems to be a habit.
ReplyDeleteCan't say they will be selling many "Centennial" plates after people hear that the money will be going down a rat hole.
