are invested in receiving the money, not maintaining these artifacts.
From a 20 year old newspaper article:
The board, criticized last year by the state auditor general
for ineffectiveness and lack of diversity, consists in large part of rich
people from "old" Arizona families, history buffs and society
matrons.
However, perhaps a society mean-spirited enough to take a popular museum and education programs away from children doesn't care about its pubic image.
